Results
LANCASTER, Pa. - The Falcons traveled to Franklin & Marshall for the second time this season to compete in the Mini-Dip Invite. Messiah put up strong performances including a few close races in the 800m and the 3,000m.
In the Results
Ellie Longshaw and
McKenna Welshans competed in the 60m dash for the Falcons. Longshaw led the way, running a 8.72 with Welshans coming through the line in 8.89 seconds. Longshaw also competed in the 200m dash, finishing in seventh-place with a time of 28.61. Welshans followed up her performance with a second-place finish in the 400m, running a 1:06.19. Also in the the 400m was Emily Martin who ran a 1:15.85.
Messiah had eight runners compete in the 800m with
Brieanna Hess,
Emma Johnsen, and
Emma Fertig leading the way for the Falcons. Hess earned a 10th-place finish, coming through the line in 2:35.02. Johnsen and Fertig battled their way to the line with Johnsen edging out Fertig by .40 seconds to secure 15th-place with a time of 2:39.41 while Fertig came through the line in 2:39.81 to take 16th-place.
The mile was led by
Mikayla Lewin, who finished in fifth-place with a time of 5:40.29.
Gabrielle Hahn (6:03.04) and
Sarah Blessing (6:05.39) also competed in the mile.
The Falcons had five runners compete in the 3,000m with three athletes running sub-12. Leading the charge was
Ally Austen, making her way to the finish in 11:53.50 for 12th-place. Austen's time was just .20 seconds ahead of teammate
Elise Davenport, who ran a 11:53.70 to take 13th-place.
Ally Bishop (11:56.91) came through the line just seconds after Davenport, finishing in 16th-place.
In the 60m hurdles,
Samantha Derkas ran a time of 11.65 with teammate
Hannah Reed finishing with a time of 12.85. Derkas also competed in the long jump, hitting a mark of 4.08m.
In the high jump,
Emily Gourley cleared 1.45m to secure a second-place finish.
In the throws,
Lila Goodhile led the Falcons' efforts with a 10.20m throw in shot put, good for seventh-place. Goodhile also competed in the weight throw, finishing with a mark of 9.02m.
Hannah Reed threw a mark of 9.00m in the shot put and
Sarah Reed rounded out the Falcons' performance in the shot put with a 7.12m throw. S. Reed also competed in the weight throw, hitting a mark of 8.09m.

The Falcons will travel to New York, NY to compete in the NYC Division III Invitational at the Armory on Feb. 1.
