GRANTHAM, Pa. – The Messiah men's swim team walloped the Lycoming Warriors in a 189-61 victory on Saturday afternoon. The Falcons placed first in both relays and picked up the top spot in ten individual events.
Ridge Hagar was all over the leaderboard for the Falcons taking first place in the 100 Breast (1:05.08), 200 Back (2:01.32), and 200 IM (2:03.11) while also swimming in the 200 Medley Relay that took first place.
Hagar was joined in the 200 Medley Relay by teammates
Jake Valentine,
Mason Kennedy, and
Tyler Wilkinson, who touched with a time of 1:48.40, beating the Warriors team by a few seconds.
In the second relay of the day, a pair of Messiah teams touched first and second in the 400 Free Relay, as the team of
Coby Bracken,
Mason Kennedy,
Caleb Munoz, and
Andrew Leeper touched at 3:32.22, while fellow Falcons
Eli McCabe,
Jacob Whipple,
Isaac McCabe, and
Avery Barley were right behind them with a time of 3:35.83.
Tyler Wilkinson earned a pair of second place finishes in the 50 Free (22.96) and 200 IM (2:07.19) after securing first place in the 100 Free with a time of 50.75.
Caleb Munoz contributed to the Falcons' success by claiming first place in the 100 Back (58.07) and second place in the 100 Fly (59.93).
Jacob Whipple touched for two top three finishes on the day in the 100 Free and 100 Back with times of 54.81 and 1:05.74, respectively.
Andrew Leeper started his day with a first place finish in the 1000 Free (11:04.34) and strengthened his performance with a pair of second place finishes in the 100 Breast (1:11.46) and 500 Free (5:22.92).
Avery Barley came away with the first place finish in the 100 Fly (55.16) and touched second in the 200 Free (1:52.45).
Daniel Logan impressed on the day picking up two first place finishes. He was first in the 50 (22.71) and 200 Free (1:49.40), while also earning a top three finish in the 200 back (2:11.34).
Mason Kennedy earned first place in the 200 Fly (2:20.90) before going on to claim second in the 200 Breast (2:33.15).
Eli McCabe touched second in the 1000 Free (11:27.16) and third in the 500 Free (5:34.77).
The Falcons will be back in action on Friday, Nov. 22 when they host Gettysburg College at 5:00 p.m.
