GRANTHAM, Pa. – The Messiah women's swim team claimed a 142-119 victory over the Arcadia Knights Saturday afternoon. The Falcons split relays with the Knights, but held the top time in 11 of 12 individual events in the conference dual.

Nancie Ziegler got the Falcons going early at Fredricksen Natatorium this afternoon with back-to-back victories in the 1000 Free (11:12.22) and 200 Free (2:04.30). Ziegler had the crowd on their feet when she overcame a two tenths of a second deficit to claim her victory by over half a second in the last 50 yards of the 200 Free. Ziegler closed out her day with a commanding victory in the 500 Free (5:29.91).

Katelyn Boyce dominated the day in all events Fly, winning the 200 Fly (2:18.04), 100 Fly (1:02.47), and running away with a ten second victory in the 400 Individual Medley (4:51.62).

The Falcons were able to claim the top two spots in the 100 Breast, when
Alley Sell touched in 1:11.46, followed closely by
Rachel Bruns (1:12.17). Sell also played claimed the 200 Breast (2:38.01) and finished third in the 100 Fly (1:04.93).

Falcons also touched first and second in the 200 Back,
Maelyn Elder (2:21.23) led the way with
Molly Elspas (2:23.37) placing second. The combination of Elder and Elspas also earned top-three finishes in the 100 Back. Elder won the event with a time of 1:05.48 and Elspas touched third with a time of 1:06.77.

Nicea McCabe sprinted her way to victory in the 50 Free when she touched with a time of 25.63.

The Falcons 200 Medley Relay team of
Maelyn Elder,
Alley Sell,
Katelyn Boyce, and
Nicea McCabe laid claim to a five second victory when they touched in a time of 1:56.62. The Messiah team of
Molly Elspas,
Rachel Bruns,
Ella Sobek, and
Kaitlyn Chemidlin finished third in the event, touching at 2:02.75.

The Falcons finished the day with a second place finish in the 200 Free Relay with the team of
Nicea McCabe,
Maelyn Elder,
Emily Griesemer, and
Rachel Bruns getting to the wall in 1:45.40.

The Falcons will be back in action on Saturday, Nov. 16 when they visit the Lycoming Warriors for a conference dual in Williamsport, Pa.
