KANSAS CITY, Mo. - This week the United Soccer Coaches announced their Scholar All-Region and All-American Teams. On Monday, four members of the Messiah men's soccer team were named to the NCAA Division III All-East Region Team. Defender
Cooper Robbins and midfielder
Trevor Goodling led the Falcons, being named to the First Team, while defender
Shay Quintin and forward
Micah Fitz were named to the Second and Third Teams, respectively. Later in the week, Messiah picked up three Scholar All-American honors with Robbins claiming First Team laurels while Goodling and Quintin were both celebrated on the Third Team.
Cooper Robbins is just a few weeks removed from being named a First Team All-American by the United Soccer Coaches and a Second Team Academic All-American by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Robbins holds a 3.85 cumulative grad point average (GPA) as a senior biology major.
Junior midfielder
Trevor Goodling joined Robbins on the First Team All-East Region Team while also picking up Third Team Scholar All-American honors. Goodling holds a cumulative 3.94 GPA as a business administration major.
Senior defender
Shay Quintin was named a Second Team Scholar All-Region and a Third Team Scholar All-American with a 3.76 cumulative GPA as an English major. Fellow senior,
Micah Fitz, was named Third Team All-Region as a forward with a 3.79 cumulative GPA as a psychology major.
To be eligible for Scholar All-Region and All-American recognition, student-athletes must meet the following criteria:
- 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) or better throughout career
- Started more than 50 percent of all games and significantly contribute to their team
- Nominated by head coach of current College Services member institution
- Junior or above in academic standing; and, if a transfer student, in second year at school
