KANSAS CITY, Mo. - On Friday afternoon,
Brad McCarty and the Messiah men's soccer coaching staff was honored as the NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Coaching Staff of the Year by the United Soccer Coaches. McCarty and company led the Falcons to an overall record of 18-3-2 and a berth in the Sweet 16.

After dropping the first two games of the season, the Falcons rattled off 20-straight games without a loss, going 18-0-2 during that span. Messiah put together a perfect MAC Commonwealth regular season with an 8-0-0 record before claiming their 18th MAC Commonwealth Title in program history with a 2-1 victory over Lycoming on Nov. 9.
Messiah put together a stellar opening weekend of the NCAA Tournament, hammering the Framingham State Rams 6-1 before beating the SUNY Oneonta Red Dragons on their home field 4-1 to advance to the program's 23rd Sweet 16.
In his 11 years at the helm of Messiah men's soccer, McCarty has led the Falcons to an overall record of 227-17-14 with seven Conference Titles and five National Championships.
The Falcons' coaching staff will be put into the mix for the National Coaching Staff of the Year, an honor they have taken home three times with McCarty in charge (2009, 2012, and 2017). As a program, Messiah men's soccer has been named the National Coaching Staff of the Year eight times.
