Falcons Show Well In Last Regular Season Meet

SELINSGROVE, Pa. - The men's track and field traveled to Selinsgrove to wrap up their regular season competition. The Falcons put up strong efforts all around and will now focus on the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships on Feb. 22-23.

On The Track
Brendan Provan led the way for the Falcons in the 60m dash, finishing in 10th-place after running a 7.30. Benjamin Cole (7.57) and Pat Zahn (7.58) also competed in the 60m dash. 

Caleb Puleo highlighted the Falcons' performance in the 200m dash, running a 23.91, good for 6th-place. Puleo's time is also a MAC qualifying time. 

Ryan Thurber led the charge for Messiah in the 400m, coming across the line in 54.95 while Shane Braunworth and Gabriel Tiday finished the race in 55.63 and 59.15, respectively. 

Messiah took 20th, 21st, and 23rd in the 800m with Cassidy Hoffman leading the way for the Falcons. Hoffman ran a 2:08.32 with teammate Isaac Covert following closely behind with a time of 2:08.38. Josiah McCarthy came through the line with just seconds later in 2:09.55.

In the mile, Chad Long (4:40.90), Silas Buckwalter (4:42.80), and Jack Franceschina (4:53.11) took 11th-place, 14th-place, and 25th-place, respectively. 

Galen Fitzkee (9:16.39) and Eric Denlinger (9:22.44) put up MAC qualifying times in the 3,000m, finishing in 4th-place and 10th-place, respecitvely. 

Derek Guissanie ran a 18:20.05 in the 5,000m while Mario Cosentino ran a 19:17.29.

In the 60m hurdles, Andrew Schott moved into ninth-place on Messiah's Top-Ten list, running a 9.29. Caleb Puleo followed closely behind, running a personal best time of 9.35 seconds.

The Field Events
In the pole vault, Caleb Christner highlighted the Falcons' efforts, jumped 3.90m to finish in sixth-place while Clayton Miller cleared a height of 3.60m, finishing in 10th-place. 

Christian Pilawski threw 10.88m in the shot put, good for 21st-place.

What's Up Next
The regular season has come to a close for the Falcons. Next up, they'll battle for the MAC Championship on Feb. 22-23 at Lehigh University.
