BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The men's track and field team finished the 2019 MAC Indoor Championships in fourth-place after claiming two gold medals, four silvers, and two bronze medals throughout the championships. The Falcons finished the championships with a total of 93 points, behind LVC (98), Widener (115), and Stevenson (158).
Day Two Results
Brendan Provan wrapped up competition on the second day with an eighth-place finish in the 60m dash, running a 7.23 and a fifth-place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 13.28m.
Matthew Royer made his way to the finish in the 800m in 1:56.53 to take third, just .32 seconds behind second-place.
The Falcons took first, second, and fourth in the mile with
Tyler McFeaters finishing in first with a time of 4:20.83.
Benjamin Schott finished in second-place with a time of 4:22.02, putting him eighth on Messiah's top-10 list.
Alex Scheib rounded out the Falcons' efforts in the mile, coming across the finish line in 4:22.34 to take fourth-place. Scheib's time was just .10 seconds behind third-place.
In the 3,000m,
Benjamin Schott led the way for Messiah, earning a fifth-place finish after running a 8:52.12.
Kyler Shea (8:55.22) and
Galen Fitzkee (8:57.07) finished in seventh and eighth, respectively.
Andrew Schott finished in eighth in the 60m hurdles with a personal best time of 9.06 seconds.
The 4x800m relay squad, consisting of
Alex Scheib,
Matthew Royer,
Brandin Dyche, and
Tyler McFeaters finished in second-place with a time of 8:06.61, good for eight on Messiah's all-time top-10 list.
Caleb Christner earned his first conference title in the men's pole vault with a third attempt clear at 4.40m, tying his lifetime personal best.
In the shot put,
Erik Dyrli hit a 13.00m on his opening round of finals to finish in eighth-place.
Caleb Puleo wrapped up competition in the heptathlon with a personal best score of 4,244. Puleo's score was good for a silver medal and puts him fifth all-time in Messiah history. Puleo took second in the heptathlon hurdles with a time of 9.45 seconds, good for 650 points. Puleo finished the day with a jump of 3.70m in the vault (535 points) and a first-place heptathlon finish in the 1,000m with a time of 3:03.64.
