Falcons Put Up Strong Numbers At Millersville Metrics

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - The Falcons put up strong performances at the Millersville Metrics including top performances in the 5,000m, 3,000m steeplechase, and the 1,500m. 

In The Results
Caleb Puleo led the way for the Falcons in the 200m, running a 23.52, which is just .01 seconds off of the MAC qualifying standard. 

Ryan Thurber ran in his first collegiate 800m, coming through the line in 2:00.73 to qualify for the conference championship.

The Falcons had three runners qualify for MAC's in the 1500m with Alex Scheib leading the way. Scheib finished the race in 4:02.86 to finish in fourth while Matthew Royer (4:11.59) and Jack Franceschina (4:13.00) finished in 17th and 20th, respectively. 

In the 5,000m, the Falcons had five runners qualify for MAC's. Messiah took first, second, third, fifth, and sixth with Kyler Shea coming through the line in first place with a time of 15:31.01. Kirk Mummert (15:49.39) and Nate Romber (15:53.5) took second and third while Matt Higgs (16:02.69) and Eric Denlinger (16:10.21) finished in fifth and sixth. 

Andrew Schott led the way for the Falcons in the 110m hurdles, running just off his personal best with a time of 16.85. Joel Rhinehart just missed qualfying time in the 400m hurdles after running a 1:00.52. 

Benjamin Schott won the 3,000m steeplechase after running a time of 9:14.02. Silas Buckwalter (10:33.48) and Adam Barley (10:49.94) finished fourth and seventh, respectively, as they qualified for MAC's. 

Brendan Provan led the way for Messiah in the triple jump, hitting a mark of 12.69m. 

Zachary Zigarelli highlighted the Falcons' efforts in the discus with a mark of 36.03m, qualifying him for the conference championship. 

In the hammer, Erik Dryli (35.62m) and Zachary Zigarelli (33.55m) finished in 24th and 25th place while also qualifying for MAC's.

What's Up Next
The Falcons are home for the week for the Messiah Multi Invitational. This year's invitational will be head coach Dale Fogelsanger's 25th year hosting the event.
