GRANTHAM, Pa. – The Messiah men's swimming team hosted the Immaculata Mighty Macs and Stevenson Mustangs in a double-dual on Friday night in Fredricksen Natatorium. The Falcons claimed the top spot in nine individual events, as well as both relays, securing two dominate wins. Messiah topped the Mustangs 146-27 while earning an impressive 134-39 victory over the Mighty Macs.
The Falcons started off their evening by taking the top two spots in the opening 200 Medley Relay. The team of
Ridge Hagar,
Isaac McCabe,
Daniel Logan, and
Caleb Munoz touched in a time of 1:42.21, just ahead of their teammates
Tyler Wilkinson,
Jake Valentine,
Avery Barley, and
Andrew Leeper (1:45.81), who finished in second place.
Isaac McCabe went on to secure three victories on the night for the Falcons, including an individual victory in the 500 Free with a time of 5:20.77.
Ridge Hagar took three victories as well for Messiah. The junior finished first in the 100 Breast with a time of 1:03.43, second amongst Messiah swimmers this year. Hagar also contributed to two relay victories, including a first-place finish in the 200 Free Relay (1:31.05). In that relay, he was joined by teammates
Avery Barley,
Isaac McCabe, and
Daniel Logan.
Daniel Logan found himself atop the scoreboard on three separate occasions. Logan picked up the victory in the 100 Fly (56.07) and was a member of both relay victories for the Falcons.
Mason Kennedy finished the evening with a trio of top-three individual finishes. Kennedy finished in first in the 1000 Free (10:47.13), third in the 100 Back (1:02.77), and second in the 100 Breast (1:10.20).
Avery Barley added to the Falcons' dominate performance, including two first-place victories, and added one runner-up finish. Individually, Barley finished first in the 200 Free with a time of 1:50.52. He was also part of the winning 200 Free Relay team (1:31.05), in which the Falcons finished slightly ahead of teammates, Tyler Wilkson,
Jacob Whipple,
Caleb Munoz, and
Andrew Leeper (1:32.99).
Earlier on Friday, Messiah's dual against Stevens scheduled for Saturday was canceled due to the impending winter weather. As a result, the Falcons will be back in action next Saturday, Jan. 25 when they host the York Spartans and Lebanon Valley Dutchmen at 1:00 p.m.
