GRANTHAM, Pa. - The Messiah women's swimming team hosted the York Spartans and Lebanon Valley Dutchmen on Saturday afternoon with the Falcons earning a split on the day. Messiah handled the Dutchmen by more than a 100 with a 173-71 victory while suffering a 171-85 setback against the Spartans.

Katelyn Boyce highlighted the Falcons' effort on the afternoon by winning three individual events with victories in the 200 Fly (2:18.78), 200 Back (2:35.38), and 200 IM (2:17.22).
Nancie Ziegler also put together a stellar performance on Saturday by sweeping the two distance events with wins in the 1000 Free (11:04.65) and 500 Free (5:30.97).

Ziegler showed off her freestyle abilities on the day, with strong showings in multiple distances. The sophomore started off her day with a victory in the 1000 Free in a time of 11:04.65, nearly three seconds ahead of York's Alyssa Coon (11:07.43) in second. Just a few minutes later, Ziegler took third in the 200 Free, getting to the wall in 2:10.71. Later she completed the sweep in the long-distance races with a six-plus second-victory in the 500 Free. Ziegler finished the 500 in 5:30.97.

Katelyn Boyce was perfect in her three individual races on Saturday. The freshman started her phenomenal day with a victory in the 200 Fly. Boyce got to the wall in 2:18.78, nearly four seconds ahead of second place, York's Alyssa Coon (2:22.62). Boyce then put her versatility on display with victories in the 200 Breast and 200 IM. Like the 200 Fly, Boyce won the 200 Breast by a sizable margin. Her winning margin was nearly five seconds, finishing in a time of 2:35.38.

The 200 IM was slightly closer, but Boyce still prevailed by over three seconds in a mark of 2:17.22.

Alley Sell also earned a pair of top three finishes with a second-place mark in the 100 Breast (1:10.99) and a third-place finish in the 100 Fly (1:04.75).
Rachel Bruns claimed third in the 200 Back with a mark of 2:23.07.

In the relays, Messiah took second in the 200 Free Relay and third in the 200 Medley Relay. The team of
Emily Griesemer, Bruns,
Nicole Lee, and Ziegler was the second team to touch in the 200 Free Relay, concluding the double-dual with a time of 1:47.29. In the 200 Medley Relay, Messiah finished behind a pair of York teams to take third-place with the team of
Maelyn Elder, Sell, Boyce, and Griesemer getting to the wall in a time of 1:58.97.

Messiah will wrap-up the regular season with a double-dual against the Albright Lions and Misericordia Cougars next Saturday, Feb. 1 at 1:00 p.m. in Fredricksen Natatorium.
