ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) released official results for the 2021 MAC Virtual Swimming Championship on Monday morning, with the Messiah men's swimming team placing fourth out of 14 teams with 814 team points. Messiah earned three medals, as sophomore Isaac McCabe contributed two. A relay team of Andrew Leeper, Jacob Whipple, Brennen Puckett, and Mark Lukens touched second (1:27.31) in the 200 freestyle relay.

A Fredericksen Natatorium pool record fell during the third session of the competition, as a relay team of Whipple, Frankie Salvi, Joseph McGillen, and McCabe set a new pool benchmark with a time of 7:39.93. The previous mark held firm for over five years.

McCabe, with his two medals throughout the weekend, earned his third All-MAC Conference honor of his career. The sophomore touched third in both the 100 breaststroke (1:00.35), as well as the 200 breaststroke (2:12.79). McCabe's All-MAC time in the 100 breaststroke fell short of the pool record by just one-hundredth of a second.

Leeper, who contributed in the second-place 200 freestyle relay, placed a top-five finish in the 50 freestyle (21.85). The senior earned his ninth All-MAC Conference honor of his career, all coming in relays. Whipple, Puckett, and Lukens all recieved their first-career All-MAC accolades with the 200 freestyle relay performance.

Overall, the Falcons wrapped up their abbreviated 2021 campaign on a high note, earning its best finish in the MAC Swimming Championship since the 2017-18 season.
