Messiah Eases through Immaculata

The Messiah women's swim team took care of Immaculata late Friday night, beating them 176-29. The Falcons won every single event on the dominating performance. They will face Stevens on Saturday January 15, in Grantham.

The 200-yard medley relay team of Erin Goudie, Abigail Soerens, Lainey Flanagan and Marie Hagemaster started off the meet with a win finishing with a time of 1:58.89.
 
Sophie Schulze won the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:29.00. She edged out teammates Lauren Cotton and Annie Russell in the event.  Schulze also won the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 58.09. This was also better than second and third place teammates Libby Gorske and Mattie Brummer.
 
Abigail Soerens won the 200-yard freestyle over teammates Marie Hagemaster, Gracie Bartley and Mattie Brummer. Soerens clocked in at 2:04.20.
 
Erin Goudie won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.30. This was better than Caitlin Ross and Libby Gorske from Messiah. Goudie also won the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:02.21. Emma Pequignot and Lauren Cotton placed second and third respectively.
 
Rachel Bruns won the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:22.62. Evangeline Soerens and Emma Pequignot finished second and third in the event as well. Bruns also won the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:11.93. Cotton and Hannah Poff were second and third.
 
Nancie Ziegler won the 100-yard backstroke clocking in at 1:06.11.
 
Lauren Mock won the 500-yard freestyle over teammate Caitlin Ross, finishing with a time of 5.33.61.
 
The team of Lauren Mock, Marie Hagemaster, Sophie Schulze and Abigail Soerens won the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:46.53.
