GRANTHAM, PA - Men's swimming took down Albright College 160-82 and Misericordia University 129-127 to finish the regular season at 6-5. Messiah got wins from multiple relay teams as well as individual wins from PJ Cronauer and Jacob Whipple in the exciting win.
The men will compete in the MAC Championships from February 10-13, in York, Pa.
 
Messiah goes 2-0 on the Afternoon
In the first event of the day, the team of Johnathon Lacayo, Isaac McCabe, Andrew Roberti and Mark Lukens won the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:41.86, edging out Misericordia by less than a second.
 
Then PJ Cronauer won the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:17.92, 20 seconds faster than Misericordia's second place finish. Cronauer would later win the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:05.67. This was ahead of Andrew Roberti's 2:08.77 which was good for second place. Cronauer would also win the 500-yard freestyle clocking in at 5:02.21 for his third win of the afternoon. 
 
Jacob Whipple then won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 22.87. 
 
In the final event of the day, the team of Jacob Whipple, PJ Cronauer, Sage Sobek and Mark Lukens won the 200-yard freestyle in exciting fashion coming from behind to win with a time of 1:30.65. This was better than Misericordia's second place finish of 1:30.99.
 
That clinched the win over Misericordia 129-127. The Falcons also beat Albright 160-82.
