GRANTHAM, PA – The Messiah women's swim team won every single event as they took care of the Mighty Macs of Immaculata early Saturday afternoon, winning 219-36. Their record improves to 1-0 on the year as they prepare for a double dual next week in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.

In the opening event of the afternoon, the 200-yard medley relay team of Schad, Cotton, Goudie and Hagemaster finished first with a time of 1:55.70 to kick off the meet for the women.
Marie Hagemaster won the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:36.43 before teammate
Sophie Schulze won the 200-yard freestyle narrowly over another teammate,
Caitlin Ross.
In the 100-yard backstroke,
Grace Schad won with a time of 1:02.23 while
Evangeline Soerens won the 100-yard breaststroke over teammate
Lauren Cotton.
Erin Goudie won the 200-yard butterfly in 2:21.01 before there was a tie in the 13
th overall event for the afternoon. Messiah teammates
Marie Hagemaster and Carolina Gizinski both finished with times of 26.43 in the 50-yard freestyle. In the 100-yard freestyle, it was
Lainey Flanagan who won with a time of 56.50.
Later, in the 200-yard backstroke, Schad got the Falcons yet another win with a time of 2:19.48.
Evangeline Soerens won the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:34.80 before
Sophie Schulze won the 500-yard freestyle easily with a time of 5:31.49. Goudie won again, this time in the 100-yard butterfly and then
Lauren Cotton won the 200-yard IM in 2:24.24. In the final event of the afternoon, the 400-yard freestyle relay team of Schulze, Ross, Mock and Flanagan won with a time of 3:53.96.

The win brings the Falcons record to 1-0 and they will compete next Saturday, October 22 in a double dual against Wilkes and FDU-Florham. That meet will be held in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.
