WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Swimming in a double-dual against Wilkes and FDU-Florham, the Messiah men's swimming team put together a stellar performance. Messiah won 10 of the 11 events contested on the men's side earning 154 team points to win the meet. FDU-Florham finished the afternoon with 36 team points and the only other victory, winning the 100 Free. Wilkes picked up 13 points in the meet to finish in third.

As mentioned, Messiah won 10 events with
PJ Cronauer and
Avery Barley leading the charge with two individual victories each. Cronauer claimed the 1000 Free in a time of 10:14.40 while also getting to the wall first in the 200 IM in a personal best 2:06.92.

Avery Barley won the 200 Free in a time of 1:55.26 while also claiming the 100 Back, getting to the wall in a time of 56.37.

As a team, Messiah was dominate. Across the 11 races, Messiah left just seven spots on the podium for swimmers from Wilkes or FDU-Florham to fill.

The Falcons claimed both relays with
Avery Barley,
Isaac McCabe, Aeden Wilkinson, and
Mark Lukens teaming up to win the 400 Medley Relay in a time of 3:43.19. The quartet of Sage Sobeck,
Nathan Book,
Dylan Yellets, and
PJ Cronauer took home first in the 200 Free Relay with a time of 1:34.01.

In the individual events, Messiah was paced by multi-victory days from Cronauer and Barley. Additionally, the Falcons saw victories from
Dylan Yellets,
Mark Lukens, Benjamin Pinto, and
Isaac McCabe.

Dylan Yellets claimed the 100 Fly in a time of 54.45 while also earning a second-place finish in the 1000 Free (11:10.24).
Mark Lukens took home his victory in the 50 Free with a time of 22.32. Like Yellets, Lukens earned a second-place finish as well taking the silver in the 100 Back.

Benjamin Pinto turned in a new personal best in the 500 Free, winning the event in a time of 5:14.27. Pinto also earned a third-place finish in the 100 Fly, getting to the wall in 58.84.
Isaac McCabe claimed the 100 Breast in a time of 1:02.32 while also taking second in the 500 Free in a new personal best time of 5:16.76.

In total, the Falcons earned 10 goals, eight silvers, and seven bronzes in a strong early season performance. Messiah will be back in action on Oct. 29 when they head to Chester, Pa. to take on Widener Pride, Hood Blazers, and King's Monarchs in a quad meet hosted by Widener.
