AUSTIN, Texas – Over the past two weeks the College Sports Communications (CSC) honored a number of Messiah student-athletes with the announcement of the Academic All-District teams for women's soccer, women's volleyball, and men's soccer. Among the honorees were 15 Messiah student-athletes with six from both men's and women's soccer and three from women's volleyball.
 
Men's Soccer
    Cole Cristian – Sr. – Midfielder – 3.72 GPA, Applied Health Science
    Luke Groothoff – 5th Yr. – Midfielder – 3.92 GPA, Biomedical Art & Design
    Ben Lefever – Sr. – Forward – 3.75 GPA, Accounting
    Stefan Leitzel – So. – Forward – 3.85 GPA, Mechanical Engineering
    Jake Lent-Koop – Sr. – Defender – 3.81 GPA, Biology
    Trevor Swartz – 5th Yr. – Midfielder – 3.64 GPA, Sp Ed:N-12 Cert PreK-12
 
Women's Volleyball
    Chayney Barnhart – So. – Middle Hitter – 3.59 GPA, Health & Physical Educ: K-12 Teaching
    Caitlin Lielbriedis – So. – Outside Hitter – 3.81 GPA, Applied Health Science

About the CSC Academic All-District Program
The 2022 Academic All-District program, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field/court and in the classroom. All honorees must carry a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.50 and be enrolled at the institution for at least one full calendar year. Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in early December.
