Delate & Seeland Earn Conference Weekly Recognition

ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) announced its weekly Player of the Week awards for the week ending on Apr. 10 on Monday afternoon as Rachel Delate (women's lacrosse) and Esther Seeland (women's track & field) each claimed conference weekly accolades. Delate, earning MAC Commonwealth Offensive Player of the Week, claims her first conference weekly award of the season as Seeland adds her third MAC Track Athlete of the Week honor of the outdoor track season.

Delate shined offensively in Messiah's two road wins last week. The junior attacker tallied a season-high six goals in a 18-6 victory over Alvernia University on Apr. 6. Delate added three assists to total nine points, also a season-high mark. Following a four-goal performance in Messiah's 14-10 win over Widener University, Delate upped her goal total to ten for the week. In total, Delate scored ten goals and dished out six assists for 16 points.
 
Delate leads the Falcons in goals (42), assists (16), and points (58).
 
Esther SeelandMAC Track Athlete of the Week – Women's Outdoor Track & Field
Seeland, as mentioned, tallied her third-straight MAC Track Athlete of the Week award. The senior runner competed well in the Messiah Invitational on Saturday, besting the 40-runner field in the 400m. Seeland placed first in the opening heat of the event and first overall with a time of 57.23s. Seeland's performance was dominant, winning her heat by over three seconds.
