NASHVILLE, Tenn. – On Sunday afternoon, Esther Seeland raced for the final time in a Messiah uniform at the Music City Track Carnival on the campus of Vanderbilt University. Seeland's final race was a good one as she turned in a person best time of 2:02.24 in the 800 Meter B Final. She lowered her Messiah and MAC Records in the process. Seeland took third in her heat, trailing only pro runners Emily Richards (2:00.27) and Skylyn Webb (2:02.07).

Seeland went out in 58.44, sitting in sixth place after 400 Meters. Her second lap time of 1:03.81 helped her move up three spots into third place. Her second lap split time was the second fastest in the heat only behind Richard's time of 1:02.81.

Overall, Seeland was the lone collegiate runner in a field filled with professional runners.

This is the last scheduled event for Seeland in a Messiah uniform. A graduate last month, Seeland will be heading to the University of Virginia for graduate school and to use her final seasons of eligibility.
