BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Messiah men's cross country team finished 24th (630 team points) out of 45 squads in the men's college brown race at the Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh University on Friday afternoon. The team was led by
Logan Horst and
Andrew Hutchinson who both broke 25 minutes in the 8K run.
Â
Logan Horst's 24:51.3 (47th overall) was the top time for the Falcons who competed well in a race full of Division I and II competitors in addition to strong Division III teams.
Andrew Hutchinson followed close behind Horst, recording a 24:54.6 (54th)—his first sub-25 time in his career.
Â
Freshman
Louka Fetter (137th, 25:37.4) was the third Falcon to cross the finish line, followed by
Josiah Moyer (183rd, 25:52.7) who broke 26 minutes for the first time in his collegiate career.
Noah Calisti (239th, 26:15.6),
Josh Bauman (314th, 27:01.2), and
Zeke Colyer (333rd, 27:17.8) rounded out the top seven for Messiah's men's squad.
Â
Next up, the tandem of
Nathaniel Coggins (349th, 27:33.1) and
Jonathan Wyrick (352nd, 27:35.0) posted great times to support the top finishers on the squad.
Â
The Falcons continue to improve and set personal bests as the season progresses, and a positive showing at the Paul Short Invitational is an encouraging sign for Messiah's squad heading into the final race of the season before the MAC Championships at the end of October.
