GRANTHAM, PA. – The Messiah women's swim team picked up three wins this afternoon with wins over York College (149-51), Stevenson (172-26) and Stevens (131-71) to improve to 10-1 on the year. Multiple Falcons won events on the afternoon including
Marie Hagemaster,
Sophie Schulze,
Abigail Soerens,
Caitlin Ross and
Evangeline Soerens just to name a few.
The Falcons have a double dual next weekend when they host Albright and Misericordia to wrap up the regular season.
In the Pool
The Falcons kicked off the meet with a 200 Medley relay win with
Grace Schad,
Evangeline Soerens,
Katelyn Boyce and
Lainey Flanagan finishing with a time of 1:53.45. Then it was
Marie Hagemaster winning the 1650 Free with a time of 19:12.59.
Messiah would finish first and second in the next event (200 Free) with
Sophie Schulze and
Lainey Flanagan finishing with times of 2:03.05 and 2:04.17 respectively. In the 50 Free,
Abigail Soerens finished first with a time of 26.45, a hundredth of a second ahead of the second place finisher from Stevens.
The next first place finisher for Messiah was
Caitlin Ross, who beat out teammate
Lauren Mock in the 500 Free. Ross finished with a time of 5:32.55 while Mock timed in at 5:35.03. In the 200 Breaststroke,
Evangeline Soerens won with a time of 2:29.40.
In the final event of the afternoon, the 400 Freestyle team of Hagemaster, Mock, A. Soerens and Schad won with a time of 3:49.58. It was enough to give the Falcons three wins on the day beating York College 149-51, Stevenson 172-26 and Stevens 131-71.

The wins takes the Falcons record to 10-1 as they will host a double dual against Albright and Misericordia next Saturday on January 28 to wrap up the regular season. The Falcons will jump in the pool starting at 1:00 PM next weekend.
