GRANTHAM, PA – The Messiah women's swim team split the decision today against Misericordia and Albright to finish the regular season at 11-2. The Falcons beat Albright 181.5-54.5 but fell to Misericordia 128-134 on the afternoon. The Falcons got wins from
Abigail Soerens,
Grace Schad and
Marie Hagemaster as well as a tied first place via
Erin Goudie in the pool.
The Falcons will travel to the Graham Aquatic Center for the MAC Championships in York, Pa from February 9-12.

The Falcons picked up their first win on the afternoon in the 50 Breaststroke with
Abigail Soerens edging out teammate
Evangeline Soerens with a time of 31.62. Evangeline finished with a time of 31.72. The Soerens sisters would also tie in the 100 Breaststroke for second and third with a time of 1:09.65.
In the 100 Butterfly,
Erin Goudie tied with Morgan Stuhltrager from Albright with a time of 1:01.83. In the 100 Backstroke,
Grace Schad picked up a win for Messiah with a time of 1:01.62.
The Falcons final win on the afternoon would be
Marie Hagemaster in the 200 IM, as she finished with a time of 2:17.76.
The Falcons would pick up multiple second place finishes in the afternoon starting with the 400 Medley Relay team of
Grace Schad,
Evangeline Soerens,
Erin Goudie and
Caitlin Ross. Messiah also finished second in the 200 Freestyle (
Caitlin Ross), the 50 Backstroke and 50 Butterfly (
Grace Schad), the 500 Freestyle (
Sophie Schulze) and finally the 200 Freestyle Relay team of Hagemaster, Ross,
Lainey Flanagan and Schulze.
