FREDERICK, Md. – The Messiah University men's swim team split its second straight double-dual meet of the season against Hood College and Widener University on Saturday afternoon. The Falcons defeated Hood in a tight contest, 123-116. The Falcons fell to Widener 169-86. The Falcons finished second in both the 400-medley relay and the 200-free relay. The Falcons totaled 10 top-three racers, with two first-place finishes.
Up next, the Falcons travel to Glenside, Pa. to take on the Knights of Arcadia University on Friday, Nov. 3 at 6:00 p.m.
How It Happened
The Falcons opened the meet with a second-place finish in the 400-medley relay. The team of
Avery Barley,
Nathan Book,
Dylan Yellets, and
Aedan Wilkinson finished with a time of 3:46.23.
The Falcons started the individual events strong with a first-place finish for
PJ Cronauer in 1000 free. Cronauer touched the wall first with a time of 10:16.16. Cronauer also added a silver medal in the 500 free with a time of 4:55.11.
The Falcons would then add their other win on the day in the 100 back.
Avery Barley finished first with a time of 55.12. Barley added a third-place finish in the 200 IM with a time of 2:07.30.
Aedan Wilkinson had a solid day in the pool for the Falcons. Wilkinson finished second in the 100 free with a time of 50.27. He also finished third in the 50 free with a time of 22.38.
Nathan Book added a second-place finish in the 100 breast with a time of 1:04.14.
Sage Sobek,
Dylan Yellets, and
Will Russell each finished with one third-place finish. Sobeck finished third in the 200 free with a time of 1:52.38. Yellets touched the wall third in the 200 fly with a time of 2:18.62. Russell finished third in the 200 breast with a time of 2:32.05.
