GRANTHAM, PA. - The Messiah wrestling team fell to Elizabethtown late on Friday night, 28-9.
Camerin Deville,
Ryder Slayton and
Sawyer Dereszynski all won their bouts on the evening.
The Falcons will travel to Ewing, NJ on Saturday, Feb. 11 to face the College of New Jersey. The Falcons will be on the mats starting at 1:00 p.m.
Exhibition
Before the official dual was underway, three exhibitions were held where Messiah won two of them.
Mason Casey and
Wyatt Bingaman claimed major decisions in their matchups while
Christian Conner fell in his exhibition.

On the Mats
The Blue Jays picked up two wins early before a barrage of
Camerin Deville takedowns put the Falcons on the board. Deville's relentless efforts were rewarded in with 10-7 win to give the Falcons three points.
After another Elizabethtown win, it appeared that
Garret Cornell had the edge in the 157 bout. Cornell led for the majority of the contest until an exciting final minute of action commenced. Cornell held a 8-5 lead before a Gonzalez takedown cut the lead to 8-7. But there was a problem, Gonzalez also had a point of riding time that was going to be added, knotting the score at 8-8. A late Cornell escape had the crowd erupting before the shock set in, as Gonzalez scored another takedown to tie the bout at 9-9 and then taking the 10-9 victory via the riding time point.
The Blue Jays continued pouring it on the Falcons, taking the next two matchups before
Ryder Slayton won an evenly matched bout at 184, needing two additional periods to get the 2-1 decision win.
Sawyer Dereszynski added another decision for the Falcons before Elizabethtown ended the night with a quick pin.
The Blue Jays would win the dual 28-9.

The loss takes the Falcons record to 9-12 and will be on the road on Saturday, Feb.11 in Ewing, NJ. Messiah will challenege the College of New Jersey for a dual that begins at 1:00 PM.
