SUNDAY, FEB. 12
YORK, PA. - The Messiah men's swim team finished fourth overall in the MAC Championships but that didn't overshadow some strong performances from the Falcons from the weekend. On the final day of the championships,
PJ Cronauer earned a gold in the 1650 Freestyle and
Avery Barley added a silver in the 200 Backstroke as the Falcons amassed 887 points throughout the weekend.
Last Day of Action
PJ Cronauer started off the day in strong fashion, winning the 1650 Freestyle with a time of 16:37.97. Later, in the 100 Freestyle,
Aedan Wilkinson picked up a seventh place with a time of 47.95.
In the 200 Backstroke,
Avery Barley got a silver with a time of 1:50.45 adding to his impressive weekend. In the 200 Breaststroke,
Isaac McCabe finished fourth with a time of 2:09.15. In the final event of the weekend, the 400 Freestyle Relay team of
Aedan Wilkinson,
Sage Sobek,
Mark Lukens and
Avery Barley got fourth place timing in at 3:09.80.
Overall, the Falcons finished in fourth place with 887 points. They trailed Stevens (1572), Arcadia (1057.5), and York College (1053) in the final tally.

SATURDAY, FEB. 11
YORK, PA. - The Falcons dropped to fifth place after day three of the MAC Championships, but that wasn't without
Avery Barley making his presence felt as he won the 100 Backstroke event, setting a new MAC Championships record.
In the Pool
Dylan Yellets finished fifth in the 200 Butterfly to start the day before
Avery Barley set a new MAC record for the 100 Backstroke. Barley claimed the gold finishing with a time of 49.75. Later it was
Isaac McCabe placing third in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 58.60.
In the final event of the day, the 800 Freestyle Relay team of
PJ Cronauer,
Dylan Yellets,
Ben Clarke and
Sage Sobek finished fourth with a time of 7:15.75.
The men are in fifth place with 644 points. The Falcons trail Stevens (1206), York College (738), Arcadia (695) and Misericordia (656.5) in the Championships. Messiah will be back for the final day of the Championships on Sunday, Feb. 12.
FRIDAY, FEB. 10
YORK, PA. - The Messiah men's swimming team remains in fourth place after Friday's events with 453 points. They trail Stevens, York College and Misericordia in the Championships.
Messiah will once again be back in the pool tomorrow for day three of the MAC Championships.
In the Pool
The Falcons picked up a third place in the 200 Freestyle Relay with the team of
Mark Lukens,
Avery Barley,
Aedan Wilkinson and
Sage Sobek, as they timed in at 1:25.77.
The Falcons finished 6-8 in the 100 Butterfly with
Aedan Wilkinson (52.14),
Noah Siegrist (52.20), and
Dylan Yellets (53.27) in the A-Final of the event.
PJ Cronauer finished eighth in the 200 Freestyle with a time of 1:47.22.
In the final event of the day, the Falcons picked up a silver in the 400 Medley Relay, as the team of
Avery Barley,
Isaac McCabe,
Aedan Wilkinson and
Mark Lukens timed in at 3:26.41.
It places the Falcons in fourth place overall with 452 points. Messiah trails Stevens (826), York College (530) and Misericordia (483.5).
THURSDAY, FEB. 9
YORK, PA. – The Messiah men's team currently sits in fourth place after day one of the MAC Championships after a thrilling and historic school record in the 200 Medley Relay. The team of
Avery Barley,
Isaac McCabe,
Aedan Wilkinson and
Mark Lukens won to claim a First Team All-Conference Honor.
The Falcons are back in the pool tomorrow for day two of the MAC Championships in York, Pa.
The Graham Aquatics Center
PJ Cronauer earned a fourth place finish in the 500 Freestyle with a time of 4:48.51 before
Avery Barley finished sixth in the 200 IM with a time of 1:56.61. Later in the 50 Freestyle,
Mark Lukens picked up a seventh-place finish with a time of 21.65.
The night was capped off with a thrilling and ultimately historic win for the Falcons in the 200 Medley Relay. The team of
Avery Barley,
Isaac McCabe,
Aedan Wilkinson and
Mark Lukens won with a time of 1:33.73, earning only the second-ever men's relay gold in program history. The other gold was back in 2018 in the 200 Free Relay. Not to mention, the 1:33.73 was also a school record for the 200 Medley Relay.
The Falcons currently sit in fourth place after day one of the MAC Championships.
