GRANTHAM, Pa. – The Messiah University women's swim team dominated the Dickinson Red Devils, 126-60 for the second straight win in two days for the Falcons against the Red Devils. The Falcons won both of the relays and secured 17 top-three finishes in the individual races. The Falcons finished with five gold medals on the day.
Up next, the Falcons travel to York, Pa. for a double-dual meet against the Spartans of York College and the Mustangs of Stevenson University on Jan. 20 at 1:00 p.m.
How It Happened
The Falcons opened the meet strong with a first and second place finish in the 200 medley relay. The team of
Grace Schad,
Evangeline Soerens,
Erin Goudie, and
Marie Hagemaster touched the wall first with a time of 1:52.65. The team of
Maddy Price,
Lauren Cotton,
Lexi Lovern, and
Lauren Mock finished second with a time of 2:00.33.
The Falcons started the individual races with a third-place finish from
Lexi Lovern in the 400 IM with a time of 5:01.67. Lovern also finished third in the 100 fly with a time of 1:06.03.
The Falcons continued to race strong in the 200 free with a first and second-place finish.
Marie Hagemaster finished first with a time of 2:00.95 and
Grace Schad finished second with a time of 2:02.40. Hagemaster added a second-place finish in the 500 free with a time of 5:30.25. Schad also earned a gold medal in the 100-back with a time of 1:00.91.
In the next event the Falcons earned a second and third-place finish in the 50 free.
Sophie Schulze finished second with a time of 26.79 and
Abigail Soerens finished third with a time of 26.83. Schulze also finished second in the 100 free with a time of 58.18.
The Falcons added another win with
Erin Goudie finishing first in the 100 fly with a time of 1:00.78. Also,
Kylie Wilkinson touched the wall first in the 100 free with a time of 57.64.
Along with Schad,
Kendal Wilson and
Maddy Price finished second and third, respectively in the 100 back. Wilson finished with a time of 1:06.01 and Price finished with a time of 1:06.06.
The Falcons finished strong in the last individual event with a sweep in the 100 breast.
Evangeline Soerens finished in first with a time of 1:08.99,
Abigail Soerens finished in second with a time of 1:10.09, and Luaren Cotton finished in third with a time of 1:15.13.
Samantha Pennell also added a third-place finish in the 500 free with a time of 5:43.48.
The Falcons finished the meet strong with a first and third-place finish in the 400 free relay. The team of

Sophie Schulze finished in first with a time of 3:50.25. The team of
