GRANTHAM, Pa. - The Messiah Wrestling team competed in Day One of the Petrofes Invitational in Hitchcock Arena on Friday afternoon. The Falcons found success on Day One and have advanced 17 individuals to Day Two. Nine wrestlers will compete in their respective championship bracket, while eight will compete in the consolation bracket. Day Two action is set to begin at 9:00 a.m. in Hitchcock Arena.
Championship Bracket Contestants
Shaun Quirk and
Asa Brunk will both compete in the championship bracket at 141 lbs.. Messiah also has a pair of wrestlers in the championship bracket for the 149 lbs. weight class with both
Dalton Monger and
Levi Snyder advancing.
Clay Gainer will compete in the championship bracket of the 157 lbs. weight class.
Keegan Demarest advanced in the championship bracket at 165 lbs. At 174 lbs.,
Austin Brass will compete in the championship bracket.
Ryder Slayton will compete in the championship bracket of the 184 lbs. weight class.
Sawyer Dereszynski will compete in the championship bracket for the 197 lbs. weight class.
Consolation Bracket Contestants
Mason Casey will compete in the 133 lbs. consolation bracket after going 3-1 on Day One. At 141 lbs., Cam Deville and
Caiden Heller will go head-to-head in the consolation bracket.
Noah Rice will continue the tournament in the consolation bracket of the 157 lbs. weight class. A pair of Falcons will compete in the consolation bracket at 184 lbs. with both Nathan Kovalcik and
Tim Eddinger advancing.
Micah Kunkle will continue his weekend in the consolation bracket of the 197 lbs. weight class. At 285 lbs.,
Micah Martinez will be in action in the consolation bracket.
Day Two action is set to begin at 9:00 a.m. in Hitchcock Arena.
