OWINGS MILLS, Md. – On Saturday afternoon, the Messiah University men's swimming steam dropped a double-dual against the Spartans of York College and the Mustangs of Stevenson University. The Falcons fell to York, 191-61 and the Mustangs by a score of 137-105. The Falcons finished with four top three finishes in individual races. The Falcons finished fourth and fifth in the 200 medley relay and added a third-place finish in the 200 free relay.
Up next, the Falcons return home to take on the Cougars of Misericordia University on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 1:00 p.m.
How It Happened
The Falcons opened the double-dual meet with a fourth and fifth-place finish in the 200 medley relay. The team of
Dylan Yellets,
Nathan Book,
Ben Clarke, and
Sage Sobek finished in fourth with a time of 1:47.81, missing out on the bronze by .74 of a second. The team of
Mitch DiFante,
Will Russell,
Logan Radell, and
Jeremiah Clark came in fifth with a time of 1:58.02.
In the first individual event,
PJ Cronauer earned a silver medal in the 1000 free with a time of 10:21.73. Cronauer also finished fifth in the 100 fly with a time of 58.82.
In the next event,
Dylan Yellets finished in fourth in the 200 free with a time of 2:00.58. Yellets just missed out on third place by .51 of a second.
Logan Radell also finished fifth in the 200 free with a time of 2:01.06.
The Falcons added a fifth-place finish in the 100 back.
Connor Fleming finished in fifth with a time of 1:03.38. Fleming added another fifth-place finish in the 200 back with a time 2:20.81.
Will Russell added a fifth-place finish in the 100 breast with a time of 1:10.20. Russell also added a fifth-place finish in the 200 IM with a time of 2:16.69.
In the next event,
Ben Clarke earned the bronze in the 200 fly with a time of 2:18.65.
In the 50 free, the Falcons earned a third and fifth-place finish.
Sage Sobek finished in third with a time of 23.22 and
Nathan Book finished in fifth with a time of 23.82. Sobek also added a bronze in the 100 free with a time of 50.84. Book also added a fourth-place finish in the 200 IM with a time of 2:15.35.
The Falcons ended the double-dual with a third-place finish in the 200 free relay. The team of
