Men’s Swim Falls in Season Opener to Spartans

GRANTHAM, Pa. – On Friday evening, the Messiah University men's swimming team fell to the Spartans of York College, 176-66. The Falcons finished second in the first relay race and third in the final race of the evening. The Falcons totaled nine top three finishes with two gold medals. Joseph Duquette led the Falcons with two first place finishes.
 
Up next, the Falcons travel to Dallas, Pa. for a dual against the Cougars of Misericordia University on Friday, Oct. 24 at 5:00 p.m.

How It Happened
The Falcons opened the dual with silver medal in the 200 medley relay. The team of Joseph Duquette, Nathan Book, Dylan Yellets, and Logan Radell finished with a time of 1:44.18.
 
In the 100 back, Joseph Duquette earned the silver with a time of 53.66. Duquette finished in the first in the 200 back (2:00.73) and the 400 IM (4:36.57).
 
In the 100 breast, the Falcons earned the silver and the bronze. Nathan Book finished in second with a time of 1:05.11 and Aidan Lacock touched the wall third with a time of 1:07.65. Lacock added a silver in the 200 breast with a time of 2:27.79 and Nathan Book finished in third with a time of 2:32.44.
 
Evan Lamison added a third-place finish in the 100 free with a time of 52.65.
 
Austin Turner also added a second-place finish in the 500 free with a time of 5:16.58.
 
The Falcons ended the dual with a third-place finish in the 200 free relay. The team of Evan Lamison, John Bajwa, Aidan Siemieniec, and Austin Turner touched the wall third with a time of 1:36.48.
