Men’s Swimming Eans Two Wins at Hood Quad Dual

FREDERICK, Md. – On Saturday afternoon, the Messiah University earned two wins in a quad dual at Hood College. The Falcons defeated Hood College, 188-49 and King's College (Pa.), 169-87. The Falcons fell to Widener University, 151-108. The Falcons earned second and third in the opening relay and finished third in the final relay to cap off the meet. The Falcons totaled 14 top three finishes, with three gold medals. Joseph Duquette led the Falcons with two gold medals. Austin Turner added a first-place finish.
 
Up next, the Falcons travel to Glenside, Pa. to take on the Knights of Arcadia University on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 2:30 p.m.

How It Happened
The Falcons opened the meet with a second and third place finish in the 200 medley relay. The team of Joseph Duquette, Nathan Book, Dylan Yellets, and Evan Lamison finished in second with a time of 1:44.76. The team of Connor Fleming, Aidan Lacock, Sebastian Martinez, and John Bajwa finished in third with a time of 1:49.49.
 
The Falcons opened the individual races strong with a first and third place finish in the 1000 free. Austin Turner earned the gold with a time of 10:57.93 and John Bajwa finished in third with a time of 11:32.11. Turner added a silver medal in the 500 free with a time of 5:20.83.
 
In the 200 free, Logan Radell finished in third with a time of 1:57.83. Radell also added bronze medals in the 100 free (54.23) and the 500 free (5:25.90).
 
Nathan Book added a second-place finish in the 100 breast with a time of 1:03.92.
 
The Falcons earned a second and third-place finish in the 200 fly. Dylan Yellets finished in second with a time of 2:25.16 and Aidan Siemieniec touched the wall in third with a time of 2:26.67.
 
In the 50 free, Joseph Duquette earned the gold with a time of 23.07. Duquette also earned the gold in the 200 back (2:01.42.) and finished in second in the 200 IM (2:05.68).
 
Connor Fleming added a third-place finish in the 200 back with a time of 2:19.06.
 
In the 200 breast, Aidan Lacock touched the wall third with a time of 2:29.79.
 
The Falcons capped off the quad dual with a third-place finish in the 200 free relay. The team of John Bajwa, Austin Turner, Logan Radell, and Evan Lamison finished in third with a time of 1:35.69.
