FREDERICK, Md. – On Saturday afternoon, the Messiah University women's swimming team swept all three teams at the Hood College quad dual meet. The Falcons defeated Hood, 229-24, Kings', 232-13, and Widener, 158-102. The Falcons won the opening relay and touched the wall first in the final relay event. The Falcons earned 23 top three finishes with eight gold medals. 
Grace Schad led the Falcons with three goal medals. 
Lauren Edge and 
Madelyn Frey each earned two first-place finishes. 
Kari Mindrebo also added a gold medal.
 
Up next, the Falcons travel to Glenside, Pa. to take on the Knights of Arcadia University on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 2:30 p.m.
How It Happened
The Falcons opened the meet with a first-place finish in the 200 medley relay. The team of 
Grace Schad, 
Madelyn Frey, 
Rachel Sobkowiak, and 
Kari Mindrebo touched the wall first with a time of 1:54.63.
 
The Falcons opened the individual races with a second and third place finish in 1000 free. 
Keelie Conaway earned the silver with a time of 11:53.07 and 
Samantha Pennell finished in third with a time of 12:05.49. Conaway added a third-place finish in the 500 free with a time of 5:56.78.
 
The Falcons then finished second and third in the 200 free. 
Kylie Wilkinson finished in second with a time of 2:00.50 and 
Lauren Edge touched the wall third with a time of 2:02.99. Wilkinson added another silver in the 100 free with a time of 56.40. Edge earned gold medals in the 500 free (5:27.55) and the 100 fly (1:05.21). to round out her strong day in the pool.
 
In the 100 back, the Falcons earned the gold and bronze. 
Grace Schad touched the wall first with a time of 1:02.07 and 
Maddy Price finished in third with a time of 1:05.90. Schad added gold medals in the 200 back (2:18.81) and the 200 IM (2:18.30) for an impressive day in the pool. Price added a bronze medal in the 200 back with a time of 2:23.86
 
In the next event, the Falcons earned another first and third place finish, this time in the 100 breast. 
Madelyn Frey earned the gold with a time of 1:10.96 and 
Lexi Lovern touched the wall third with a time of 1:15.97. Frey added another gold in the 200 breast with a time of 2:36.03 and Lovern finished in third in 200 breast with a time of 2:44.93.
 
In the 200 fly, the Falcons earned a second and third-place finish. 
Makayla Yellets finished in second with a time of 2:36.78 and 
Abby Caltrider earned the bronze with a time of 2:38.08.
 
The Falcons continued their great afternoon in the pool with a first and third place finish in the 50 free. 
Kari Mindrebo earned the gold with a time of 26.23 and 
Kendal Wilson touched the wall in third with a time of 27.05. Mindrebo added a silver medal in the 100 free with a time of 56.40.
 
Meredith Westcott added a second-place finish in the 200 back with a time of 2:21.93.
 
The Falcons ended the quad dual with a gold medal in the 200 free relay. The team of

Madelyn Frey finished in first with a time of 1:45.02.
