YORK, Pa. – On Sunday evening, the Messiah University women's swimming earned first place in the Spartan Splash Invitational. The Falcons earned 831 total points on the weekend to earn the win. The Falcons dominated the final two days of the invitational, beating second place York by 175 points.
Up next, the Falcons compete in the two-day Gettysburg Invitational on Dec. 5-6.
How It Happened
The Falcons opened the final day of Spartans Splash Invitational with a silver and bronze in the 1650 free.
Lauren Edge touched the wall second with a time of 18:25.42 and
Keelie Conaway finished third with a time of 18:45.17. The Falcons added two more top 10 finishes with
Samantha Pennell finishing in fourth with a time of 19:06.78 and
Elizabeth Chorba coming in 10th with a time of 20:16.25.
The Falcons continued their strong start with a gold medal in the 200 back.
Grace Schad touched the wall first with a time of 2:07.27. The Falcons also added two top 10 finishes with
Meredith Westcott finishing in seventh with a time of 2:21.13 and
Maddy Price coming in eighth with a time of 2:22.43.
In the next event, the Falcons earned two top 10 finishes in the 100 free.
Kari Mindrebo touched the wall fifth with a time of 55.47 and
Rachel Sobkowiak finished in sixth with a time of 56.24.
The Falcons then earned a second and third place finish in the 200 breast.
Lexi Lovern earned the silver with a time of 2:28.86 and
Madelyn Frey finished in third with a time of 2:29.76.
In the 200 fly,
Makayla Yellets earned the bronze with a time of 2:28.17. The Falcons added three more top 10 finishes with
Abby Caltrider touching the wall fourth with a time of 2:30.61,
Keelie Conaway finished in fifth with a time of 2:31.30, and
Ava Gower came in ninth with a time of 2:42.39.
In the final event of the invitational, the Falcons earned the gold medal in the 400 free relay. The team of

Lauren Edge touched the wall first with a time of 3:36.31. The Falcons also added a seventh-place finish with the team of
Elizabeth Chorba,
Meredith Westcott,
