GRANTHAM, Pa. – On Saturday afternoon, the Messiah University women's swimming team fell to Misericordia University in their final dual-meet of the 2024-25 season, 125-80. The Falcons earned 12 top three finishes in the individual races with two first-place finishes. The Falcons also added a second-place finish in the 200 medley relay and in the 200 free relay.
Up next, the Falcons travel to York, Pa. for the four-day MAC Championships starting on Thursday, Feb. 13.
How It Happened
The Falcons opened the dual with a silver medal in the 200 medley relay. The team of
Grace Schad,
Lauren Cotton,
Erin Goudie, and
Lauren Mock finished in second with a time of 1:52.81.
The Falcons opened the individual races with a third-place finish in the 1000 free by
Keelie Conaway with a time of 11:40.60.
Lauren Mock then finished in third in the 200 free with a time of 2:07.07. Mock also touched the wall second in the 100 free with a time of 57.35.
The Falcons added another third-place finish with
Kendal Wilson earning the bronze in the 50 free with a time of 26.54.
In the next event, the Falcons earned the gold and the bronze in the 200 IM.
Grace Schad finished in first with a time of 2:17.25 and
Lauren Cotton finished in third with a time of 2:22.46. Schad also added a silver in the 100 back with a time of 1:00.62. Cotton also added a silver in the 100 breast with a time of 1:10.46.
The Falcons added another gold in the next event with
Erin Goudie touching the wall first in the 100 fly with a time of 1:02.18.
Madelyn Frey added a bronze in the 100 free with a time of 57.78. Frey also finished third in the 100 breast with a time of 1:12.47.
In the 500 free,
Samantha Pennell earned a third-place finish with a time of 5:46.22.
In the final event of the meet, the Falcons earned a silver in the 200 free relay. The team of
Kendal Wilson,
Kari Mindrebo,
Madelyn Frey, and
Erin Goudie finished in second with a time of 1:45.43.
