SALISBURY, Md. – On Saturday afternoon, the Messiah University men's soccer team dropped a road matchup against the Sea Gulls of Salisbury University, 4-0. The Sea Gulls opened the scoring with a goal in the 21st minute to take a 1-0 lead. The Sea Gulls added another goal just 31 seconds before the half to extend their lead to 2-0 at the break. Salisbury added two more goals in the second half to earn the 4-0 win.
 
Up next, the Falcons take on the Blue Jays of Elizabethtown College on Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 7:30 p.m. on Shoemaker Field for the annual Marshmallow bowl game.

First Half
The Falcons looked to get on the board early with a shot on goal from Davis Pagett, but the Sea Gulls goalkeeper made the save and kept the game scoreless. The Sea Gulls looked to score in the 17th minute with a shot on goal, but Killian O'Reilly made the save to keep the game tied. The Sea Gulls though scored a goal in the 21st minute to take a 1-0 lead. The Sea Gulls would then score another goal in the 45th minute to take a 2-0 lead into the half.
 
Second Half
The Sea Gulls started the second half strong with a goal in the first five minutes to take a 3-0 lead. The Sea Gulls added another goal in the 88th minute to earn the 4-0 win. The Falcons got shots on goal from Davis Pagett, Sam Phillips, Owen Resch, and Grant Shreiner, but each shot was saved to keep the Falcons off the board.
 
Stats
The Falcons totaled 12 shots with five shots on goal. The Sea Gulls tallied 15 shots with six shots on goal. The Falcons totaled six corner kicks to the Sea Gulls eight. Killian O'Reilly earned the start and made two saves.
