Women’s Swimming Earns Third at MAC Championships

YORK, Pa. – On Sunday evening, the Messiah University men's swimming team competed in the final day of the 2026 MAC Championships. The Falcons finished third with 1105 total points on the weekend. During the final day, the Falcons were led by Grace Schad who earned a gold medal in the 200 back. Lauren Edge also added a bronze in the 1650 free.
 
Sunday, Feb. 15 Update
The Falcons opened the final day of the MAC Championships with three top 10 finishes in the 1650 free. Lauren Edge led the Falcons with a bronze medal with a time of 18:08.17. Keelie Conaway added a fifth-place finish with a time of 18:36.45 and Samantha Pennell came in seventh with a time of 18:45.63.
 
In the next event, the Falcons earned two top 16 finishes in the 100 free. Kendal Wilson finished in 12th with a time of 56.03 and Rachel Sobkowiak came in 16th place with a time of 56.63.
 
In the 200 back, Grace Schad earned the first gold medal of the 2026 MAC Championships for the Falcons with a time of 2:06.49. The Falcons earned two other top 15 finishes with Meredith Westcott finishing in seventh with a time of 2:15.85 and Maddy Price coming in 15th with a time of 2:24.89.
 
The Falcons then earned two top 15 finishes in the 200 breast. Lexi Lovern touched the wall fifth with a time of 2:30.51 and Elina Del Castillo finished in 15th with a time of 2:39.81.
 
The Falcons capped off the 2026 MAC Championships with a bronze medal in the 400 free relay. The team of Lauren Edge, Kari Mindrebo, Madelyn Frey, and Grace Schad touched the wall third with a time of 3:37.57.
 
Sat. Feb 14 Update
The Falcons opened day three of the MAC Championships with three top 10 finishes in the 200 fly. Keelie Conaway touched the wall ninth with a time of 2:23.01, Makayla Yellets finished in ninth with a time of 2:22.83, and Abby Caltrider finished in 10th with a time of 2:24.37.
 
In the 100 back, the Falcons earned a bronze medal and two other top 10 finishes. Grace Schad earned the bronze with a time of 57.75. Kari Mindrebo touched the wall sixth with a time of 1:00.07 and Meredith Westcott finished in 10th with a time of 1:02.30.
 
In the next event, the Falcons earned three top 15 finishes in the 100 breast. Madelyn Frey touched the wall sixth with a time of 1:08.53, Lexi Lovern finished in 12th with a time of 1:10.90, and Makayla Yellets came in 15th with a time of 1:12.29.
 
The Falcons capped off day three of the MAC Championships with a fourth-place finish in the 800 free relay. The team of Kari Mindrebo, Meredith Westcott, Grace Schad, and Lauren Edge touched the wall fourth with a time of 8:07.06.

Friday, Feb. 13 Update
The Falcons opened day two of the MAC Championships with a fourth-place finish in the 200 free relay. The team of Kari Mindrebo, Kendal Wilson, Madelyn Frey, and Lauren Edge finished in fourth with 1:40.33.
 
In the first individual event, Samantha Pennell led the Falcons with a seventh-place finish with a time of 4:55.33. The Falcons added two more top 15 finishes with Lexi Lovern finishing in 10th (4:58.35) and Elina Del Castillo earning a 14th place finish (5:06.17).
 
In the 100 fly, the Falcons earned two top 10 finishes. Madelyn Frey finished in fourth with a time of 59.49 and Abby Caltrider touched the wall 10th with a time of 1:02.00.
 
The Falcons then earned three top 15 finishes in the 200 free. Lauren Edge touched the wall fourth with a time of 1:58.63, Kari Mindrebo finished seventh with a time of 2:01.37, and Meredith Westcott came in 14th place with a time of 2:04.54.
 
The Falcons finished day two of the MAC Championships with a fourth-place finish in the 400 medley relay. The team of Grace Schad, Lexi Lovern, Madelyn Frey, and Lauren Edge touched the wall fourth with a time of 4:01.15.

Thurs. Feb. 12 Update
The Falcons opened day one of the MAC Championships with three top 16 finishes in the 500 free. Lauren Edge led the Falcons with a fifth-place finish with a time of 5:22.68. Kari Mindrebo added a 10th place finish (5:24.30) and Keelie Conaway finished in 16th (5:32.55).
 
In the next event, the Falcons earned their first medal of the 2026 MAC Championships. Grace Schad earned the bronze in the 200 IM with a time of 2:10.40.
 
The Falcons added a 13th place finish in the 50 free from Rachel Sobkowiak with a time of 25.67.
 
The Falcons capped off day one of the MAC Championships with a bronze medal in the 200 medley relay. The team of Grace Schad, Madelyn Frey, Abby Caltrider, and Kendal Wilson touched the wall third with a time of 1:50.90.
