2012-2013 Season - Senior
Malcolm set the ninth all-time mark for the 1000 Free at Lycoming (11:37.76). At the 2013 MAC Championships, McDermond set the sixth all-time mark for the 200 Back (2;12.96), the fifth all-time mark for the 200 Breast (2:24.41), and fourth all-time mark for the 400 IM (4:42.66).

Malcolm Ian Douglas McDermond is a Sociology/Anthropology and Religion major. . .little known fact is that he has lived abroad in Scotland and Kenya. . .hobbies are reading, cooking, building bamboo houses, and hiking. . .favorite sports team is Everton. . .person in history he’d most like to meet is Desmond Tutu.
