1. What is the F.A.N?
The Falcon Athletic Network (F.A.N.) seeks to provide fans and donors of the Falcons with opportunity to support the mission of Messiah Athletics. The F.A.N. is the primary way through which the Falcons go “above and beyond” to provide student-athletes, coaches, and fans with experiences that make Messiah one of the premier locations for NCAA Division III athletics.
2. How does someone join the F.A.N?
A "F.A.N. member" is the affectionate title we give to someone who has made a monetary donation to one (or more!) of the three areas listed below. We encourage supporters to give within each fiscal year (July 1 – July 30).
- The F.A.N. Fund
- Any one of the Falcons’ teams
- Any one of the A.R.O.M.A. missions trips
3. Is my gift tax deductible?
Yes-- your entire gift will be tax deductible, and you can expect to receive the necessary documentation from the Office of Development regarding any/all of your gift(s) to F.A.N.
4. What is the F.A.N. Fund? ...Where does the money from F.A.N. go?
The money from F.A.N. is used differently depending on how it is donated.
The F.A.N. Fund – these monies are used to promote and provide for the mission of Messiah Athletics. Specifically, the money is used in the following ways:
- Enlisting of graduate assistant coaches
- Development of the Hall of Honor and Hall of Champions displays
- Planning of special athletic and team receptions
- Enhancement of game day promotions
Messiah Falcons’ Teams – these monies are used by each sport program to enhance the experiences of the student-athletes, such as through team activities and special trips.
A.R.O.M.A. Missions Trips – A.R.O.M.A. is Messiah Athletics’ arm of sports ministry, with the Falcons participating in local, national, and international missions throughout the year. Trips are listed on
www.GoMessiah.com/AROMA, with international trips posted in January of each year.
