What are club sports at Messiah?
Messiah's campus is an active, busy place. Students can engage their passions in any of 70-plus clubs and organizations with the Student Government Association, or SGA. The clubs and organizations are divided into nine categories, with club sports being one of those categories.

(Note: While ultimate is not a current NCAA offering, they are grandfathered into the "club sports" group since they have historically been considered a club sport at Messiah and since the NCAA has previously considered ultimate for emgering sport status.)

Each club sport is funded by SGA and advised by a Messiah University employee. What is the purpose of putting club sports on GoMessiah.com?
Club sports have a presence on GoMessiah.com for two main reasons: 1) to provide insight into what club sports are available at Messiah University; and 2) to provide information on basic news, schedules, rosters, and contacts for each club sport program.

GoMessiah.com is primarily a website for Messiah's NCAA Division III programs, and it will continue to be so. As such, the webpage development and coverage of the NCAA teams should look, and will look, very different than that of the club teams.

Who runs the club sports pages on GoMessiah.com?
The Messiah University office of Athletic Communications oversees the club sports web pages on GoMessiah.com. However, it is important to note that all the information-- including roster, schedule, results, contacts, and stories-- are supplied by the club sports themselves.
