On Aug. 9, Rodrigo de Mendoza began his tenure as an AROMA Sports Ministry Coordinator. He comes to Grantham after serving as the assistant soccer coach for both the men's and women's programs at North Central University in Minneapolis, Minn.
Rodrigo graduated from North Central University in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in marketing and then continued his education to earn a master’s degree in strategic leadership in 2022, also at North Central. As a Ram, de Mendoza was a five-year midfielder and center-back on the soccer field, earning Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) academic all-conference honors during each of those seasons. He formed part of two National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) North Region Championship teams (2018, 2021) and one NCCAA Division II National Championship team (2018). In 2021, he was also named to the NCCAA All-Tournament First Team and NCU’s male candidate for the UMAC Scholar-Athlete award.
Originally from Panama City, Panama, de Mendoza is excited to begin his first year with AROMA Sports Ministry at Messiah. He is fully aligned with AROMA’s heart for ministry and looks forward to continuing working for the Kingdom of God in this new role.
