Patrick Hager is entering his second year in 2013-14 as a Graduate Assistant Coach for the Men's and Women's Cross Country and Track & Field teams. Hager is originally from Edinboro, Pa., attending General McLane High School. After that he attended Medaille College for one year and transferred to Messiah College where he graduated in 2008 with a degree in Sports and Exercise Science.Â
Personal achievements for Hager include First Team All MAC honors in both cross country and track and field as a senior at Messiah in 2007-08.Â
Starting in 2009 Hager spent two and a half years as the first ever cross country coach for Rosemont College. 2009 also marked the first year that Rosemont College accepted both men and women, previously only accepting women. During his time there, Hager led Klarisse Torriente to First Team All CSAC honors in 2011.Â
Hager is also a co-founder of Team S.W.I.F.T (Strength, Wisdom, Integrity, Faithfulness, and Truthfullness), a racing team of mostly Messiah Track & Field/Cross Country Alumni founded to give runners a chance to stay connected to their teammates after graduation and to glorify God with the blessing he has given in running. He holds post-collegiate personal bests with S.W.I.F.T. of: 15:25 (5k), 32:08 (10k), 25:40 (5 miles), 1:12:03 (Half Marathon), and 2:35:54 (Marathon).
In the summer of 2012 Patrick was married to Sarah Hager and they now live in Mechanicsburg.Â
