McKinney’s collegiate swimming career took place at Division II Millersville University, where she graduated in 2009 with a bachelors in social work. In the pool, McKinney’s focus was on distance freestyle events. She made it to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) finals each year and broke two school records in the 1,000 and 1,650 freestyle events. McKinney was co-captain her junior and senior year and received the “Leadership Award” for her team those two years. Academics was also of high importance for McKinney. She earned the PSAC Scholar-Athlete all four years.

McKinney is thrilled to be coaching for the Messiah swim team. She especially likes getting to know the student-athletes and pushing them to be intentional about each practice. McKinney is looking forward to see how the student-athletes grow this year spiritually, physically, and academically. She wants them to do well in all their responsibilities and treat others with respect and love.

McKinney currently lives in Grantham with her husband and three young children. Outside of coaching you will find her doing crafts with her kids, listening to podcasts, hiking, or in the garden.
