In August of 2019, Chelsey Meyers joined Messiah University as an athletic trainer. She will provide health care primarily for women’s soccer, wrestling, women’s lacrosse, and softball.
Prior to coming to Messiah in August 2019, Meyers served as an assistant athletic trainer at Presbyterian College in Clinton, S.C. During her time at Presbyterian, Meyers served as the head athletic trainer of the men’s and women’s wrestling programs and as an assistant athletic trainer for football. Meyers also served as an adjust instructor for the Physical Education department at Presbyterian.
From June 2016 to May 2018, Meyers served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Ohio University. During her stint with the Bobcats, she worked with the wrestling, volleyball, and field hockey teams, while also serving as a preceptor and teaching assistant for the Ohio University undergraduate athletic training program. She earned a Master of Science degree in Athletic Training from Ohio in May 2018. Meyers received the Lifesaver Recognition Award through the National Athletic Training Association in March 2018 for successfully using her skills as a certified athletic trainer to save a life in February 2018.
Meyers, a native of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, received a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from California University of Pennsylvania in May 2016. While serving as a student athletic trainer with the Cal Vulcans, Chelsey worked with the men’s basketball and softball teams. She also served an off-campus rotation with the football program at Washington & Jefferson College.
Chelsey earned her national certification as an athletic trainer in 2016 and is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association, Pennsylvania Athletic Trainers’ Society, and the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
