    Sport Psychology Consultant / The Inner Athlete
Jeff Hoyt, a 1977 graduate of Messiah College, serves student-athletes and coaches as a consultant in sport psychology. In this capacity, Hoyt works with individual athletes and teams to enhance the mental skills necessary to achieve higher levels of performance and provides counsel to athletes experiencing performance-inhibiting challenges and setbacks.

Typical discussions and presentations cover areas such as purpose driven performance, self awareness, confidence building, self motivation, intentionality, self talk, focus, attitudes, self control, team building, leadership, and mental toughness.

“I am thrilled to be a part of the traditions at Messiah College of developing the character and personal growth of student-athletes," Hoyt said. "I trust that the work we do together will go with them long after they have left the field of intercollegiate competition”.

As a two-sport athlete in his playing days with the Falcons, Hoyt earned milestones in basketball (.563 career field goal percentage, second all-time leading rebounder at 869, and member of the 1000 point club at 1102) and in baseball (.822 single-season and .714 career slugging-percentage, and 13.3% home run percentage).

Hoyt also served as the head baseball coach in 1978.
 
Hoyt holds a BS Degree in behavioral science from Messiah College and an MS degree in Counseling from Shippensburg University. He has 35 years experience as a consultant in human resource management and business development. Hoyt resides with his family in Northern Virginia.
