The 2016 season marks Kelsey (Gorman) Heisey's fourth year on the sideline for the Falcons. A 2012 graduate of Messiah College, Heisey was a key defender on the Falcons’ 2008, 2009, and 2011 NCAA Division III National Championship teams. She was a three-time All-Commonwealth player during her time on the pitch, and she was also named the Commonwealth co-Player of the Year in her senior season. That year, she also earned Most Outstanding Defensive Player honors in the NCAA Tournament.
Across her four-year career, Messiah collected three undefeated seasons and finished with a 96-1-4 overall mark; the Falcons’ only loss over that stretch was in the 2010 National Championship.
Heisey also stood out in the classroom for Messiah, with honors including a MAC Scholar-Athlete of the Year award and election to both the CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-District and All-American First Team.
