The Messiah University swimming pool, home of the Messiah University Falcons, is open to Messiah and the surrounding communities. Please see details below.

Messiah Community:
- Active Messiah students, faculty, staff and their spouses and dependents (19 and under) are able to utilize the pool’s open swim times free of charge.
- Student/staff ID’s must be shown when entering the pool.
- Faculty and staff should contact the Falcon Exchange to have their spouses and dependents added into the Fusion membership system and to obtain an ID card.
- Dependents 14 years of age and under must be accompanied by an adult.
- Outside guests and family members are not permitted to use the pool.
- Aqua Aerobics classes - You must purchase a Group Exercise Semester pass, through the Fitness Center’s Fusion system or at the Fitness Center front desk.
Community Membership:
Members of the surrounding community who are 18 years old and over may use the pool. Multiple membership options are available, including:
Community Pool – includes access to all open swims (no classes) - $25/month
Community Pool Plus – includes access to open swims & aqua aerobics classes - $30/month
Masters Swim Membership – $25/month - adults (18+) who want lap swimming workouts with active coaching in a positive community. Must be able to swim one length of the pool safely. Current Schedule: Monday and Wednesday 12:00pm - 1:00pm; Tuesday and Thursday 8:00am - 9:00am. Does not include access to other open swim times.
Fitness Center Plus – includes use of fitness center and group exercise classes (aqua aerobics, but no open swim) - $34.99/month ($350 annual)
Fitness Center Platinum – includes access to fitness center, open swims and group exercise classes. - $59.99/month ($600 annual)
Our fitness center also accepts the following insurance-based programs:
- ASH – includes pool membership for open swims
- Tivity & UHC– includes group exercise, including aqua aerobics (no open swims)
- There is an option for a $10/month pool add-on for open swims
Individuals must be 18 years or older to purchase and use the memberships.
To sign up for a membership:

- Click “Sign In” in the upper right corner (please note: membership options will only show up after you create an account)
- Create an account
- Click on Aquatics
- Select Sign-up for and Purchase Membership
** You may also choose to come to the front desk of the Fitness Center on campus and purchase the membership in-person. The fitness center is located on the second floor of the Sollenberger Sport Center.
Pool Rules and Regulations
- ALL SWIMMERS MUST SHOWER BEFORE ENTERING THE POOL.
- All band-aids, jewelry and hair pins must be removed before entry. No pony tail holders with metal on them.
- No shoes are allowed on the pool deck.
- Food, drinks and chewing gum are not permitted.
- Babies and children that are not potty trained must wear a swim diaper.
- Children 6 and older may not use opposite gender locker rooms.
- Proper swim attire is required. No cutoffs, street shorts and T-shirts.
- Proper ID is required.
- All swimmers must sign in and sign out.
- NO RUNNING, throwing others into the pool, chicken fights or other horseplay is not permitted.
- No diving in the lane pool.
- Recreation equipment must be approved by the pool staff.
- Swimming lanes are for lap swimmers. During busy times, swimmers may be asked to circle swim.
- Please do not sit on, lift, rest on or climb over the lane lines.
- Pool equipment is not available for conference use.
- LIFEGUARD IS THE FINAL AUTHORITY.
Frequently Asked Questions:
What is the check-in process for the pool?
Enter the Sollenberger Sports Center on campus and go to the 2nd hallway on right - Public Locker Rooms. There is a door on the other side of the locker room that will enter the pool area. You will check in with the lifeguard at the desk.
Do I need to bring my own towel?
Yes, we do not provide towels.
How do I know the schedule for open swims?
You can find the open swim schedule on your Fusion app OR you can find a more complete schedule of pool activities at the open swim tab above.
Please note that our schedule only posts about 2-3 weeks out, as we schedule our lifeguards.
Is there equipment available for me to use?
You are welcome to use our noodles, dumbbells, kickboards, etc. You should provide your own goggles & snorkels.
How will I know if there is an unexpected closure?
For winter weather, if the University is closed or delayed, so is the pool. You can find that information on the school's website - www.messiah.edu.
For other unexpected closures, like lightning or pool issues, we will post signs on our locker room doors.
What is the pool temperature?
We keep the pool around 82 degrees
What is the size of your pool?
Our pool is an 8-lane, 25 yard pool
