Fredricksen Natatorium
The Fredricksen Natatorium is housed within the Sollenberger Sports Center and includes eight 25-yard lanes. Messiah began using the facility in intercollegiate competition in 2008 with the addition of men's and women's swimming programs.
Messiah’s 20-plus million dollar “Campaign for Wellness” was completed in August 2017, and the renovations to Fredricksen Natatorium delivered multiple upgrades. Permanent stadium seating for 250 spectators was added with an entrance located upstairs next to the Fitness Center. Two new dehumidification units were installed to regulate the air above the lap pool, and the two units evenly disperse air flow across the entire pool. Two exhaust fans were also installed across from the spectators, with return units keeping the air moving down and across the pool to collet chloramines and keep the air quality fresh.
