XML Box Score Glenside, PA- Coming off a dominant 5-1 upset-victory over No. 1 Franklin and Marshall, No. 12 Messiah College headed to Arcadia University looking to stay perfect in October. Despite starting slow, a strong second-half effort lead Messiah past Arcadia 2-1.

At the start, shots and good goal-scoring chances were few and far between for both teams. However in the 15th minute, Messiah goalkeeper Molly Gebrosky fended off two corner opportunities and a shot, all within 90 seconds. As the first-half winded down Messiah and Arcadia both had corner opportunities, but both defenses stood strong and preserved the scoreless tie. It seemed like it wouldn't be long before the game's first goal was scored, which was in fact the case.

Just 10 minutes into the second-half, Moriah Pfautz broke the scoreless tie on a pass from Brooke Sands and put the Falcons up 1-0 at the 45:06 mark. However, it would not be long before Arcadia equalized. Off a penalty corner 13:33 later, Arcadia's Taylor Dalisera found Katrina Dull's pass and hit the back of the cage.

Messiah quickly took the restart, pressured Arcadia's defense looking again for the go-ahead goal, and quickly found a penalty corner. Rachel Cox sent her shot wide, but minutes later Pfautz found the cage yet again. This time her goal at the 62:22 mark- second of the game and season's tenth- put Messiah up for good. Jennie Kamel sent the ball into the circle, and Pfautz hit it on home. Additionally, Pfautz's goal was her fourth game-winning goal on the year.

Arcadia threatened to find a late tying goal, but Gebrowsky came up big and preserved the 2-1 scoreline.

"Molly Gebrosky made several clutch saves to shutdown Arcadia's offense," coach Brooke Good said, speaking highly her senior goalkeeper's performance.

With the victory, Messiah improves to 9-2 and remains perfect (3-0) in Commonwealth Conference play, while Arcadia falls to 8-5 and 2-2 respectively.

"This was a hard-fought win for us," coach Good said, speaking post-game on Messiah's thrilling 2-1 battle. "After a slower start than we expected, we made some adjustments for the second-half and got the job done."
