XML Box Score 1 | XML Box Score 2 | XML Box Score 3 | XML Box Score 4 Ithaca, NY - The Messiah women's volleyball team competed strongly at the Ithaca College Tournament, winning all four of their matches against the non-conference opponents. The Falcons (14-9) took early leads and didn't drop a set in any of their first three of four matches. Messiah dropped one set against Ithaca but went on to win 3-1.

Against Wells College (4-16), the Falcons had the initial upperhand yet allowed the Express to pull even at 5-5 in the first set and 7-7 in the third set. After the minor setback, Messiah's attack took control in all three sets and scored in bunches; never letting the Express back in the match for an impressive 25-14, 25-12, 25-12 win. The heavy hitting of Kristen Douglas and Jane Underman led the Falcons with six kills a piece, while Jenny Baumer accumulated four services aces.

The Falcons continued their dominace in their next match against Utica College (6-16). Messiah fell behind by only three points throughout the match and took advantage of several Utica errors; barrelling through the Pioneers 25-13, 25-14, 25-9. The Falcons' offense was at its prime, accumulating 40 total kills and 10 service aces. Kristen Douglas led Messiah with seven kills and Hayley Cowoski served up four aces.

In set No. 2, Messiah only allowed the Mavericks to hit one kill, while registering 11 of their own. As a team, Medaille attacked with a -0.018 percentage. Due, in part, to the 17 total blocks by the Falcons.
