XML Box Score Grantham, PA - Messiah College jumped out to a 15-3 lead over Arcadia University in the first set on Tuesday and never looked back, winning 3-0 (25-12, 25-18, 25-18) to move to 10-9 on the year.
Brooke Gallagher led the Falcons with a career-high 23 assists and
Alyssa Vorbeck collected seven kills.
Playing at home for the first time since Sept. 24, Messiah didn't wait to give the home crowd a reason to cheer. In the first set the Falcons went on a 10-0 run to break a 2-2 tie with the Knights and take a 12-2 lead.
Kristen Douglas collected all four of her kills in that stretch as Messiah went up 15-3 en route to a 25-12 win.
Jane Underman completed that set with one of her evening's six kills.

The second set was much of the same for the Falcons although Arcadia did knot the set at 7-7 early on.
Brooke Gallagher dished out 10 of her 23 assists in the second set, including the set-ending kill to
Julia Temple.

Gallagher continued her stellar play as the Falcons' setter for a second-straight set, lifting up 13 more assists in the Falcons' 25-18 clincher.

Vorbeck's seven kills led the Falcons while Underman and
Taylor Hook each had six. Douglas' four kills lifted her team-leading total to 190 for the season. The Falcons' wide-ranging contributions also contributed to a .295 attack percentage—second-best for the season behind a .326 mark against Penn. State-Fayette on the season's first day. The Falcons also committed a season-low 11 errors.

As mentioned, Messiah moves to 10-9 overall including 4-2 in the Commonwealth Conference. Arcadia falls to 6-8 with a 1-5 mark in conference.

The Falcons next play on Friday, Oct. 11 at the Ithaca College Tournament. They will play both Wells College and Utica College that evening before facing Medaille College and Ithaca College on Saturday.Â
