Grantham, PA- Just one day after a 7-6 victory against the Alvernia University Knights, untimely errors and lackluster offense cost the Falcons two losses on the afternoon.

Messiah (4-10, 1-2) entered the day seeking to win the weekend series with the Alvernia Crusaders.

The Crusaders would start the action early by posting two runs in the first. Leon Stimpson got Alvernia started with a leadoff single. After stealing second, Stimpson would later score after Casey Ebersole committed an error. Bill Turner would build on Alvernia's lead as he drove Chris Ray home with an RBI single to give the Crusaders an early 2-0 lead.

After falling into an early deficit, the Falcons would rally and battle right back in the home half of the first inning. The Falcons loaded the bases and Derek Drake delivered with an RBI sac fly to bring John Brubaker home. Ebersole would score courtesy of a Jacob Sprengle fielder's choice to tie the game at two.

Chris Ray drove in the go-ahead run in the seventh inning of game one, as the Crusaders would top the Falcons 4-2. Messiah committed two errors in the seventh inning that allowed Alvernia to score both runs.

Steven Ridings led the Falcons from the mound allowing four hits, four runs, and registering eight strikeouts over six innings of play.

The second game saw the Crusaders convincingly defeat the Falcons 9-1.

Already up 1-0, Alvernia erupted to produce a four-run third inning to hand the Crusaders a convincing 5-0 lead. Matt Patterson connected on a RBI double, Chris Gehris had a RBI single, and Dan George had a two-run RBI double to keep the Crusaders' offense rolling.

The Falcons' lone run was delivered when Jon Heisey scored on an error by the Crusaders.

Catcher Dustin Arnold led Alvernia, as he was three-for-four with an RBI. Steve Price
threw a complete game, four-hitter as the sophomore pitcher secured his third win of the season.

With the losses, the Falcons fall to 4-10 on the season. Messiah will next travel to The College of New Jersey on Tuesday, March 26 where the first pitch is slated for 3:30 p.m. against the lions.
