Box Score

Grantham, PA - Messiah College's losing streak extended to three Thursday as they fell 12-3 at the hands of Eastern University. The Falcons were outscored 10-1 after tying the game at two goals each midway through the first quarter.

Eastern put 33 shots on the Falcons' cage as the Falcons' Jon Weimer collected an incredible 21 saves. The senior goalie's stalwart stickwork was not enough to keep his team close, however, as Messiah's offense managed just 10 shots on cage at the other end.

Weimer's 21-save performance—the third most in the last six season—was the most for a Falcons' keeper since Steve Kozuhowski collected 22 saves last season in a 9-8 win over Whittier College.  Current assistant coach Josh Stewart collected 24 in a 2010 loss to Elizabethtown, the most a Falcons' goalie has collected in the last six seasons.

Andrew Harris led the Falcons (2-5, 0-1) offensively as he netted two goals in his first game back from injury. Tyler Goglio tallied in the first to account for the Falcons' other goal, using some nifty stickhandling to get around his defender for the shot and goal.

The Eagles (7-2) received matching four-point performances from Zac Ivy and Chris Farrar. Ivy and Farrar each found the back of the net twice and added two helpers. Three other players tallied two goals each for the visitors in the win.

For the Falcons, Thursday's game was the fourth game this season in which their offense was held to fewer than five goals. The Falcons are 2-1 when scoring more than five goals with their only loss under those circumstances coming against Ursinus College.

The Falcons will hope to rebound as they jump back into conference play after the Easter break. Lycoming College visits Grantham Wednesday (4/3) evening in the first of seven conference matchups to finish out the season. The opening whistle is scheduled for 7 p.m.
